Looking a head,

So, it’s been a while since I wrote something. Anything really. And there has been a very good reason for that. It has been the Exam time of year in St Andrews, and so that means long hours of thankless servers to the library overlords and never ending prayer and worship to the gods of revision.
Yea, it’s been that good.
I had my first exam on the very first day, a Saturday no less, and then my next (and last) on the Monday after. So yea, not the longest time to prepare, but hay I’m done how and that’s what counts. It’s odd being back in St Andrews, but not odd in a bad way.
In fact it’s been really good to be back, despite the fact that my room is like a ice box every time I wake up or come back to it from being out all day.
Only one of a few reasons why me and a group of friends are looking for a flat for next year. So YAYness!!!
Now, looking for a flat isn’t all that easy in St Andrews.
First: Lists of Flats come out all at different times, some came out already and some are yet to come out. It’s all a tad crazy.
Second: We’re looking for a 5 person flat. And those are a tad few and far between. So we’d end up looking at all this town has to offer.
It’ll be fun being out of hall in a flat with a group of people I get along with stupidly well. It’s crazy to think, but they are possibly as insane as I am myself. And that’s no small feat.

But that’s not all that’s happened in the World of the Dragon.
First and foremost, I’m pissed off!!
For reasons of its own, my camera decided to stop working properly and I’m not pleased by that. I’ve always like having a camera and that one cost a fair amount of money too. Grrr!!! I feel lost with out it.
Second, It’s been so fun to be hanging out with people again after the break. I don’t think I’ve laughed as much in while.  So many funny things have been said, this week will for ever live on in ‘in-joke memory’.
But that’s not what I wanted to talk about.

I want to talk about Movies!
And the utter glee I have for them in 2008!
First, let me start off with the first movie I saw in 2008.
I Am Legend.
Now I don’t like movie that make me jump, so much so, I’ll just not watch them. I’m that kind of person. But a movie where for the most part the only person on screen was Will Smith? Like Hell I was missing that one!
Let me just say, I enjoyed it. Smith can hold the camera for the whole movie; it just goes to show how good an actor the man really is. And also that damn dog! I mean if that dog does not win the Oscar for ‘Best Animal/Supporting Actor’ were is something wrong with the Oscars! Cause he/she/it deserves it, and if you’ve seen the movie you’d know what I mean.
Yea, I did feel a little cheated by the ending, but what can you say, America wants it’s ‘Happy Endings’ right now, and I’m not one to say that it can’t have them.

But Now on to movies I would like to see. (From now till the Summer and beyond!)
For some reason I’ve got a hankering to see “Charlie Wilson’s War” (See what I did there… because it starts Tom Hanks… Yea, I know: I’m too much (*sigh*) It’s out there the Now!). I’ve heard good things about it and also it sounds like a great story, insane, but great.
Jumper (out February 15th)  is another movie that looks good. About people you can well, Jump, but not really in the ‘bend the knees’ kind of way. It means teleporting.
It’s got that girl from the OC, Rachel Bilson, in it and also stars (oh god…) Hayden Christensen (you know, the guy from Star Wars, a really BAD Skywalker!) as the main lead. Hay, it also has Samuel L. Jackson in it. COOL!
Indiana Jones (May 22nd) is back. And it’s looking good. I’m (as well as almost every student I know) is looking forward to this movie. I really just hope it’s not going to be just a ‘cash inn’.
Valkyrie (July 11th) brings us a World War 2 story that should be told.
Tom Cruise stars as Colonel Count Claus von Stauffenberg, who plotted to assassinate Adolf Hitler. As someone who did History of the 2nd world war at school for a long time, I know a bit about this plot, and I’d really like to see this movie. It’s a story of a few people trying to stop evil, and failing. In someone else’s words “Compelling”
Moving away for true stories (possibly lowering the tone).
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (August 8th). This is the third outing of the mummy franchise, and will not have the old undead, (why is it called ‘Undead’? Surely if you’re not dead then you’re a alive, but if you’re rotting you would be dead… I’m confused wouldn’t it be better to call it something like ‘mildly dead’, or ‘almost but not quite dead while still being alive’, just a thought) or be based in Egypt, but instead the action movies to China, were Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) must help is (now grown up) son battle a ‘Shape-shifting Chinese Emperor (Jet Lee. I will see this movie, even if it’s just to see the fight between Jet Lee and Michelle Yeoh. I have a feeling that, that might just steal the show.

And now Unleash the Fan-Boy in me!!!
For I Now must talk about Comic book Movies! ROCK! (Sorry I really am a comic book fan boy and hopeless loser. I already know this)
Well lets Begin with HellBoy 2 (August 22nd). This new Hellboy movie will take Hellboy into a more fantasy monster filled world, to which my understanding is, that’s kind’ah more like the comics it’s based on. You will see fantasy creatures running about and you will see Hellboy shot the bad guys with big Guns. I Hope it’s as much fun as I think it will be.
But before we see that, we have a Movie that I think will surprise a lot of comic book movie goers, The Incredible HULK (June 13th). A re-boot/re-launch/re-vamp/a whole lot of “re”s see your hero on the run from the army, Right off the bat, Bruce Banner (Edward Norton (of Fight Club fame)) is the Hulk, and right form the word go he’s a wanted man! I have a good feeling about this one.
Another one I have a good feeling for is Iron Man (May 2nd). Watch this: and tell me you don’t have a good feeling about it. It Looks good, and since it’s made in house (i.e Marvel is making it) we get Iron Man in the Red and Gold armour. YAYS!!Now we come to the big Daddy of the Comic book movie year.
The Dark Knight (July 25th). The Batman is back, in a ‘it’s going to get worst long before it gets better’ story picking up were the last movie Batman Begins left off. This movie is set to become the best Batman movies yet. And I’m not one to argue. I can’t wait to see it. If it’s one tenth as good as its trailer, we’re in for a great show. Just have a watch

Well I think that’s enough for tonight.
Tonight’s post was brought to you in part by Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson.
Have a listen.
